Well, I
decided to write on our blog in advance as we don’t have internet in the woods,
so here goes. We arrived at our friends
Lynden and Charlie on Sat. April 28. We
scouted a spot they had found for us on
Sunday and we loved it and moved the
same day. There is a stream running
behind our 5th wheel and loads of downed trees for fire wood. It’s only about 10 minutes from Logan
Lake. It’s on crown land, so we can
stay here as long as we want.
It is still a
bit cold, but we have a fire going all day.
It actually snowed a bit this morning.
(Denise, I should not have laughed at you.)
On Saturday,
we went to a garage sale and MJ found a small TV for $5.00 that actually works
and we can watch some of our favorite shows.
Only get 4 channels, but, hey, we are in the bush, can’t expect
miracles.

Still pretty
cold today. 6 C at 9:30 am. Going
into Logan Lake to blog and get supplies.
So your first days as "fulltimers" are lookin' mighty fine !!!
ReplyDeleteGonna have to get a little puppy now to take along with you on your travels.
Wait until MJ gets to Arizona and has to PAY for firewood.
Sure wish I were there sitting around the fire with you guys. Hmmmm, on the otherhand if it's still that frikkin' COLD maybe not !! LOL
GREAT score on the TV MJ !

ReplyDeleteare those slugs? i guess with cheese they taste good.
looks nice and sure nice to be outside around the fire.
the old crow
who are you, unknown
Deletec'est moi le corbeau du coin
Deletehaha.
A ces mots le Corbeau ne se sent pas de joie ;
and now in english
Mr. Crow, sitting in a tree,
Held a piece of cheese in his beak.
Mr. Fox, mouth watering from the scent,
Uttered almost precisely this to him:
“Hey! Good morning, Mr. Crow.
How lovely you are! You look so beautiful!
Without lying, if your songs
Are in keeping with your feathers,
You are the Phoenix of the inhabitants of these woods.”
With these words the Crow feels nothing but delight.
And to show off his beautiful voice,
He opens a wide beak and lets his prey fall.
The Fox grabs it and said: “My dear sir
Learn that every flatterer
Lives at the expense of the one who listens to him.
This lesson is worth a piece of cheese, no doubt.”
The Crow, ashamed and embarrassed,
Swore, but a bit late, that he would never be fooled again.
enjoy
Merci, Romain, Bonne histoire.
DeleteOh - your spot looks and sounds perfect! How long do you think you'll call that particular place home? Have you both relaxed after your whirlwind packing/downsizing? When Gerald and I left Terrace after selling everything, we both felt so much less stressed. It was a wonderful feeling ... okay, we're feeling pretty wonderful now too ;-)
ReplyDeleteWe should be here til may 30th and then going to Vernon for a craft fair, then up to Goose. We are finally starting to relax.
