As promised, some pics.

This old truck was on a utility trailer on the ferry over here.  Just had to take a pic of it.

We went to pick oysters with Janice and her mom and dad, Marie & Joe.   Then, we shucked them and Marie and Janice prepared a wonderful dinner with the oysters.

Could this be the SS Minnow?  It was on the beach where we picked oysters.

Don’t know what this guy was doing, but he was moving with the help of his little motor on top of the plane.  Not going too fast.

These cruise ships pass in front of our site every day.  They are huge.

Back and forth Ketchikan, Alaska to Vancouver and Victoria.

Here we are after over a month since last blog.

A heck of a ride.

The last couple of weeks on the mainland were pretty busy visiting with friends and family.  Too many to mention and wouldn’t want to miss anyone.

We had to go to Kamloops to get our stuff that we had stored at Sam and Jill’s house for the winter.  We stayed with them for one evening.  Then, we moved on to Logan Lake to pick up more stuff at the “Kirkby Storage and Loan” ( Lynden and Charlie’s house) and stayed there for a night also.  Great visits with both of them

Then, finally, it was time to move out of Peace Arch RV park and move  to our new home on Quadra Island.  What a change for the better this place is compared to Peach Arch.  We have not stopped smiling since we got here.

Gerald and Janice have been a wealth of information since we got here and we have spoken or seen them just about every day.  We are making up for all the years we have not seen them.

We have cruise ships going by here every day.  My oh my those suckers are big.  We are like two little kids with our mouths opened wide with awe when one goes by, specially at night.  What a sight.

Pictures of a whole bunch of stuff will follow.  Just wanted to write a note before I got too rusted.

PS.  We are enjoying this part of our journey immensely.

We have moved

Yep, we moved to where we had stayed in Oct. 2012, namely Peace Arch RV Park.  Two reasons for the move.  1. too far to travel back and forth to Richmond and Drs visits in Vancouver.  2.  Eric has horse stalls that he rents out and in turn the renter rents the stalls to horse owners.  What comes with horses is horse sh—.  Just a bit too smelly for us.  So, we moved.

We went to the island with Eric to visit Lynn and Wayne ((people we met in Yuma) .  They live in Campbell River.  Had a great visit with them.  They showed us around a bit of CR.  Great to see them.

While there, we called our friends Gerald and Janice on Quadra Island and went over for lunch which ended up being dinner.  While there, we visited a bit of the island and while driving around, Janice mentioned that there was a private Campground that was looking for a camp host. Didn’t think much about it in the beginning, however, they took us to see the campground.  OMG, we need to have a powow and discuss the possibility of staying there for the summer.  Must say, it was a very short powow.  MJ said would you like it here for the summer and I responded YESSSSSSS.  So, up we go to the lodge and see if the position is still available and it was and we got it.  woooooo hooooooo   We start on May 15th to Sept 15th.  It is all inclusive for free:  sewer at the site, water and electricity, free showers and laundry, AND high speed interned.  Did I say ALL FOR FREE.  All we have to do is greet the campers and make sure that everything is tidy when they leave and advise the front desk at the lodge if toilets need  cleaning and garbage bins need emptying.  YES, we can do that.

Gerald and Janice have 3 goats and one had to be milked and MJ offered to do it.  Wow, she did it.  Now she thinks she’s a goat farmer.  lol  She will probably be milking all summer.
