July 17 Saturday - Lise and family leaving.

Still hot today. Lise, Pierre, Jessie and Shanie left shortly after noon. Gilles L. came here this afternoon and he took Ronald, Josh, MJ & I to the river. The three boys went swimming and MJ & I looked down the river hoping to see some fish surface. Came back to the house and hooked up the trailer to the truck so we don't have to do it tomorrow in the morning heat. We then had a fire for a while with the five of us along with Albert & Lorraine. Pain in back/chest is a bit better today.

July 16 - Friday - Dinner at Louise & Jen

Last week, when hugging one of my nephews, I heard a pop in my chest. Never thought anything of it. But since then, I have a pain that goes right through my chest. Painful enough today that I renewed a prescription for muscle relaxant I had from my sore back last month. Going to bed was very painful. Had taken a pill before dinner at Louise's and Jen and wanted to fall asleep before dinner was served. Which was very good, by the way.

July 15th Thursday - started packing.

Got up and geared up to go digging clams on Heron Island. Pierre was having trouble with his boat and was supposed to be ready at the marina around 10:30 am and the lowest tide was at 1:20 pm. Pierre told us to meet him at 10:45 am at the Marine. My bro was already with Pierre. So, Josh, MJ, Doug & Mike met at the dock. When Pierre saw us all and the stuff we had to dig and carry the clams, he realized that there were too many of us. Guess who volunteered to stay back? I was just not into digging clams, and MJ was just behind me, so back we come. Bro and Josh came back around 5 with a couple buckets and sun burned. Pierre stayed on the boat and a couple friends joined him and he looks like a lobster. We decided to start packing. Did a pretty good job of it. Around 4, Janet came over and asked if we would like to go have chicken wings with her. We did and had a good time. I met a few people I knew, then after, we went and had ice cream. It is now 11:00 pm and going to check my facebook and go beddy bye.

July 14th Wed. - Lunch at Gladys' parents

Still hot on the north shore. MJ & I went for lunch at Gladys' parents. Gilles made hamburgers and Howard, (Gladys's dad) made home made fries. Very good lunch. Then MJ and I went to get the oil changed in our truck in preperation for us leaving on Sunday. Soooo, we went shopping to pass the time. All we bought was toilet paper. How exciting. Then we kept going toward Bathurst, by the time we got back it was 10:00 pm. Went to Lynn's to transfer the family pics from my storage stick to her puter. Got back to our trailer around 11:30pm. and off to bed.

Tuesday July 13th - Dinner with the gang

What is wrong with this picture? 10:30 pm and I'm in my trailer. company in and out all day then we all went out to dinner together. Some have left for Montreal after dinner: Sophie & Normand, Real & Yvette and Yvon. Nicole & Denis are leaving in the wee hours of the morning. So, all relatives from the Montreal area will have gone by tomorrow. Gilles, Gladys and son Tristan are gone to Gladys' parents. All we have left here are Lise and her family, Ronald and his son, Albert & Lorraine and MJ & I. It just poured rain as we came out of the restaurant. Seems we've had rain in some form or other for the next 2 weeks.

July 12th Monday - Gone Fishing

We went fishing with Albert & Yvon. Nice lake but no fish. MJ & I fished for about an hour and came back to the house. Albert & Yvon stayed for about 4 hours more and they didn't catch anything either. We were fly fishing and they were fishing with worms. Don't know why the fish aren't co-opereating with us this year, but it is very frustrating. Should just as well have kept the fishing licence costs and bought fish...... Company came and went in the evening. Early night tonight. It's just past midnight and I am calling it off.

July 11, Sunday - Family Dinner

First day without rain showers for a long time. Dinner with everyone here with another evening of chat, chat and more chat by the fire. Nephew Gilles and Gilles L. took pictures of all of us with our respective partners and or kids.

July 10 Sat - Time to Pahttttttyyyyyyy.

Another friggin hot, hot, hot day. Looks like I missed someone arriving on Friday. Cousin Nicole's daughter - Sophie and hubby Normand arrived . Today, Nicole's son Real and wife Yvette arrived. Now, we are complete. (I think). Sophie, Normand, MJ & I went shopping in the afternoon. Normand is crazy funny and Sophie is a doll. Had a great time with the two of them. We had a dooser of an evening. Everyone was here. Gilles and Gladys found a guitar for MJ and she and Gilles played and we all sang to the wee hours of the night. Went to bed aroud 3:30 am. Had a great time. Neighbours seemed to be ok with that since no RCMP showed up.

July 8 - Friday - Hot & muggy - Party

Hot day again. Went to the beach with MJ, Gilles, Gladys, Tristan, Josh, Toby & Blake, with nooooooo intentions of getting wet. However, Toby splashed me and I ended up swimming in to try to catch him. That felt good. Gilles L. came over in the afternoon and MJ, Josh and I went to his camp for a while. Nice place to hang out. Lise and hubby Pierre and her 2 daughters, Jessie & Shanie arrived at supper time. They pulled their boat with them. Will probably go have a cruise one of these days. Everyone (too many to name) was here tonight singing and having a good time. It is now 1:15 am and I'm going to bed.

July 8th Thursday - Fog, fog, muggy, muggy

What is going on with this weather. Can't see a thing across the bay. In the evening, the fog kept coming in very thick. One good thing was the smell of the salt air. Rained on and off also, all day. MJ & I had to go on a side trip (personal stuff) and when we came back to the house, cousin Nicole and family were there along with Lynn and boys. Gilles cooked us a mean steak and Gladys made a wonderful salad. Gilles L. came to visit in the evening. Nephew Gilles got his guitar out and we had a sing along til about midnight. Neighbours are probably saying: "keep your day job". Who cares, we had a great time. Came into the trailer at about 1 am and noticed that our electricity wasn't working. S---. Ronald soon found the problem and hooked us up with a different extention. It's 1:30 am, I'm signing off.

July7 - Wednesday - Busy day

Got up to a warm and muggy day. Got ready to go out for lunch with cousins: Norma, Madeleine, Marjorie. And friend Lisette and of course, MJ , and while we were there, Marjorie's son Gilles joined us for lunch. Lisette came to pick us up and came in to chat a bit before we left. MJ mentioned that she wanted an old window to do some decoration (somewhere in the house - Who knows...), and asked Lisette if her son had some because he is renovating the house he moved in. Too long of a story to tell you about the house. Anyway, we ended up going to the farm house and talked to Pierre, (Lisette's Hubby - and Jacques, Lisette's son), and yes, they found a window. There may be more before we leave. Then we headed for Bathurst where we were to meet the 3 others for lunch at a chinese buffet. Had a great lunch then went to do a bit of shopping and headed home. My nephew Gilles with wife Gladys and son Tristan and nephew Ronald and son Josh had arrived from Nova Scotia. Lynn and her 2 boys were there. We all had a great afternoon and yummy supper. Shortly after supper, my cousin Nicole and hubby Denis and her son Yvon arrived at the house. Also, cousin Gilles L.(the Gilles who joined us for lunch) came for a visit. Hail, hail the gangs all here.... Not so, still more to come on Friday. Talked a lot, laughed a lot, now I'm going to bed. Tamara is another day.

July 6 - Tuesday - hot hot hot hot

The summer is here in full force along with the humidity. I would say over 30 today. Went to do a beer run on the Quebec side for MJ & Lynn. A case of 12 bottles of Miller Chill Lime was $15.00 cheaper than on the New Brunswick side. Go figure. While we were there, we bought some Bovril Chinese Fondue mix for France. (our Vancouver friend). Ya, France, we found it. Took the scenic route from Cross Point to Charlo. Stopped in Campbellton to take some pics. Also stoped at an RV dealer to pick up a bumper end cover to replace the one we left at some sani station on our way to Charlo. When we tried it on, the sucker is too big, so have to return it for a smaller one. Got here and everyone was pretty hot, so Lynn, MJ & I went to get a large pizza and we all chowed down on that. Afterwards, Blake and Toby wanted to go to the beach to collect worn down piece of glass on the beach so Lynn, MJ & myself joined the two boys on the beach for about an hour. It is now 11:15 pm and there is a nice wind coming through the trailer. It will be nice to sleep. Pic on left: Lynn and Blake. Pic on top: MJ, Toby and Blake

July 5 - Monday - Cloudy and rain and fog

Albert returned from fishing at 7:00 am. He knew it was going to be a shitty day, so he came back before the rain. Lynn took Toby for an MRI in Bathurst. Poor kid had to wait til after 2 o'clock before they took him in. No food since 8 in the am. Lorraine took Blake for a booster shot in Dalhousie in preperation for him to go into kindergarten next year. Gearing up for more of the family coming on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Poor MJ. She's going to get an earful of french. However, Gladys, Tristan and Josh don't speak english and they should be here on Wednesday. It was a hot and muggy day today. More to come tomorrow.

July 4th - Sunday

Visitors, visitors, visitors. Every time we decide to go fishing, someone appears. Today, it was Mike and Yvonne, but we weren't quite ready, so Mike helped Albert get his fishing rods together. Then as we were getting ready to get in the trucks, cousin Madeleine and hubby Larry showed up. We sat down for a bit with them. Then off we go. Lynn, Toby and Blake had dropped in and they came with us to the lake so that Lynn could see how big it is for her to do some kayaking in her new kayak. I caught 2 small trout, MJ still skunked, Albert caught 3 in the afternoon. We left the lake around 7 o'clock and Albert is staying overnight. He called Lorraine to tell her good night and tell us he caught 2 fish after we left. Got to the house at about 8:15 and cousin Larry and wife Monique were here visiting with Lorraine. After they left, we drove to Eel River Crossing to get some poutines. Yummy.

July 2nd. Friday - Still no fish

Fished for about 3 hours and nothing. Sooooo, will never, never, never go to that lake again. However, we were the only ones on the lake for most of the time and it was very nice and peaceful. Even the wind kept to a minimum. Noone on the lake....... should have got the hint. Saw our same moose on the way home. Maybe not the same guy, but looked like it. Got home around 9 and in the trailer by 10:30. Albert went fishing at a little pond closer to home and nothing for him either.

July 1. Thursday - Gone fishin'

Yep, we did done gone fishin'. However, if we could catch a fish, it would be called a fishing trip. So, no fish, could we call it a nothing trip? I don't usually get skunked, but 3 times in a row, my average is going down. Ok, yes, Mike (Lorraine's bro in law) took us fishing. He caught 7 fish. Went to 2 different lakes. Thought the second lake would be better fishing, but no go. None the less, it was nice to be on the lake. We will try again tomorrow. On our way home, a moose posed for us in the middle of the road. Photo is a bit fussy because I took it through the windshield.

June 28th - Monday - slow day

Cold, windy, rainy.
Went to visit Norma. Her daughter from Fredericton: Chantale was there. Madeleine, her sister, her hubby Larry and son Yvon were all there. Nice visit with my relatives. Went to the big town of Dalhousie with Lorraine for her blood test. Started to go for a walk and rain started, turned back to the house. Another feed of smelts tonight, but MJ had enough of fish and she had mac and cheese. I would take smelts over mac & cheese any time.

June 27th - Sunday

Gilles and family dropped in for a bit on their way to Nova Scotia. Lise and her family left after lunch. Too darn quiet here now. NOT. Was driving by my cousin Norma's house and noticed that her sister (and my cousin) Madeleine and her hubby and son Yvon were there from Sudbury. Also Chantale from Fredericton. so we stopped in. They were having a drink in honor of my cousin Gerard who passed away, and were on their way to bury him at the cemetery. So I called Albert & Lorraine and we all drove to the cemetery to join them. Quite touching. The rain held off until the last minute. Earlier today, a long lost friend that I had connected with on Facebook: Eileen, dropped in with her partner to chat a bit before continuing on their way home. Nice to see her after such a long time.

June 26, Saturday - Go see Canadian snowbirds

Got up to unsettled weather, sun in, sun out, bit of rain in afternoon then sun again. Went to see the Snowbirds at the Charlo airport. Quite interesting. Rain came down for about 10 mins and the show was delayed, but was great once started. Went for ice cream to Dalhousie after dinner with all the girls: MJ, Lorraine, Lise, Jessie, Shanie. Pierre and Albert went to check the Dalhousie marina where Pierre wanted to put his boat when they come for the week in July.

June 25 - Hair cut

I had a hair cut from Norma today. Feel like a real person again. I hate long hair. Gilles, Gladys and Triston spent the afternoon with us. Lynn bought her roof rack for her kayak and is gone padling.

Thursday, June 24, 2010

June 24th, Thursday - rain is back full force

Rained allllllll day today. So, around noon, MJ & I left for Bathurst on a search for a pair of sandals for MJ. We saw the ones she (made by Ecco) wanted but at $150.00 decided that she didn't want them that badly. We shopped for a couple to 3 hours and I ended up with a new blouse, new iron cover for Lorraine and a few groceries.

June 23 - Wednesday Lobster day

Organized a caterer for July (not sure what day yet) when the whole family is here. We were going to do it all ourselves, but felt that feeding 27 people would have been a bit too much. Looking forward to have everyone here. Lorraine, Albert & me had a lobster feast. MJ was sick the last time we ate lobsters and made herself a plate of beans and weiners.

Lobster versus beans and weiners, I would always choose lobster. Rain started late afternoon and all evening. Pretty muggy also.
Gilles arrived in Charlo in the afternoon. In the evening, he went to a graduation for Gladys' nephew. Gilles came here to sleep and scared us in the trailer because we didn't expect anyone. I looked outside and saw him coming out of his truck and relaxed after seeing him.

Tuesday, June 22, 2010

June 21 - Fishing trip

Yep, finally we went fishing. The last leg of the road into the lake was a pot hole after another. Went with my bro and would have shot him if I didn't love him so much. And we didn't catch any fish to boot. Guess what, we had to come back the same way. Lynn went to get her canoe - 17'

June 18 & 19 - MJ to Moncton

Yep, Lynn and MJ and Blake went on another road trip to Moncton. This time Lynn bought a 17 ft kayak. No roof rack, so had to leave it there until Sunday. Nothing much to report today.

June 17 - Thursday

Haven't been doing much in the past few days. However, one very sad event has happened in our family.--- My bro went to see a neurologist and pass a bunch of tests on Wednesday in Moncton. He was loosing muscles and his strength. He was diagnosed with ALS. All of us are very shocked by this diagnose. The Doctor told him he could live from 2 to 5 years. My research on the net says the same thing. Albert sort of knew this could be ALS. It all started about a year and a half ago and got worse in time. He has to pass more test, but looks like it will be the same result. I have been looking on the net to find something positive about this disease and nothing yet.

June 12, Saturday - Lobster dinner

Weather has turned out nice. Sunny for last 3 days. Went to the medical clinic yesterday, because I couldn't stand the back pain any more. Doc gave me some pain killer and anti inflamatory meds to try and get rid of the pain. He told me an injury like this could take 2 to 6 weeks to clear up. O Joy. Don't know when we can go fishing. We had lobster again tonight for dinner. Very good. Congratulations to our friends Gerald & Janice who got married today.

Monday, June 7, 2010

June 6th, Sunday - Rain again.

Weather is consistant - rain. But, who is complaining? Niece Lise and family left. Now it's just too quiet here. How nice. MJ & I went shopping. I bought a pair of jeans and 2 pairs of comfy pants for the evening ( PJ bottoms). Lynn and sons came over for a bit. Pic of new box on trailer and the yard where the vehicles are all parked. If anyone gets confused with all the names I write down, let me know and I'll do a write up on all the Goulette clan. Then in July, I'll do another one when our relatives from Montreal come down. MJ is getting to know a few more french words, (no not swear words). My cold seems to be just about over. Hee haw.

Sunday, June 6, 2010

June 5th, Saturday - Lobster day

Fun day with Lynn and her kids. Lise and hubby and her kids. Albert, Lorraine, MJ & me. Noisy - just a bit. We had lobsters for dinner. 3 lb size again. What a feast. However, weather is not co-operating for us to do anything outside. Went for a truck ride with Lynn, Toby and Blake, but couldn't get out of the truck because it was cold and raining. Has to get better some time before summer is over. We would like to put a few days of fishing somewhere in there.

Saturday, June 5, 2010

June 3rd & 4th, Thursday & Friday - Kayak hunting.

Long story short - Niece Lynn wants a 16 ft Boreal Design kayak. She will jump over the moon to get one. We went all over hell's creation on Thursday and Friday to find a used one because new ones cost an arm and a leg. She loves to drive so on Friday we ended up in Moncton which is about 190 miles from here. We first started by going to St Louis de Kent where some guy sold these kayaks, but no used one, so Lynn said let's go to Moncton, so away we went. Still no kayak. However, we laughed a lot along the trip. My other niece: Lise and hubby Pierre and 2 kids Jessie and Shanie arrived Friday for the week end. The house was full on Friday evening with 2 nieces and their families, Albert, Lorraine, MJ, Sylvie and me. Had a great time. Will I go on another kayak hunting trip. NO. Cold is getting much better. Feeling like a human being again.

Thursday, June 3, 2010

Wednesday, June 2nd. Slow day

Lorraine says that I must stop being sick so I can do more things to write on my blog. MJ & I went to Bathurst for a drive and stopped at the mall but couldn't find anything we needed. We went to visit Louise and Jen and lucky for me, Pat was there then Paula & Shelley came in to visit. I was very glad to see all of them. Hadn't seen Paula & Shelley for over 30 years. Louise & Jen redit their house and it looks fantastic.

Wednesday, June 2, 2010

Tuesday, June 1st

Went to the medical clinic and spent 3 hours waiting for the doctor to see me. Still don't know why this cough is not going away. Dr. told me I don't have asthma which I have had for over 30 years. Go figure. Watched the finale of Brothers & Sisters on the puter. Who died? Figured out how to take a picture on Lorraine's movie camera.

Tuesday, June 1, 2010

Monday May 31st - Smelts for dinner

MJ & Albert worked on Albert's quad. Went and emptied the black water from the trailer (not my best chore of the summer). Lynn and Blake dropped in for a bit in the afternoon and everybody watched Albert and I eat clams that he had dug up on the week end. What a feast. Wish we had those nice clams out west. They are so much better than the small clams we have in BC. Tried to figure out the movie/photo camera Lorraine got from our cousin. Not successful.
Will try tomorrow. Had smelts for dinner that Albert had fished last winter from his ice shanty. Another great dinner. Ya, Janice, had to mention food.

Monday, May 31, 2010

Thursday ,Friday, Sat & Sun. May 27, 28, 29 & 30

Lorraine & I went to my niece's Lise (in Edmunston) to help her out with her garage sale. More like a mega sale. She was selling everything but the kitchen sink. Had a great time with her, her hubby Pierre and I finally met my two great nieces: Jessie and Shanie. Cute girls or what. Pierre & I had a fire in the back yard on Friday and Saturday. Saturday rain started around 10:00 pm and had to come in the house. MJ stayed in Charlo and she and Albert finished putting the box on the back of the trailer and painted the back trailer bumper.

Thursday, May 27, 2010

Wednesday, May 26

Nice day. Visit from my friend Aline. Niece Lynn and her friend Sylvie. MJ started her second cold since leaving home. Guess she caught mine. Janice: we finally had our lobsters. We all had a 3 pounder, and for once in my life, I couldn't finish eating it. Getting old I guess. MJ and Albert worked on our stove and we are quite happy with the results. Now we can cook outside when the weather is not nice. Watched Americal Idol and my guy Lee won the competition.

Tuesday, May 25, 2010

Tuesday, May 25 - Rain, Rain & more rain.

MJ & Albert went to get the metal this morning to weld our junk box on the back of the trailer bumper. The four of us went to Campbellton to return Albert's rubber boots that were too small, couldn't find another pair that fit. Went grocery shopping. had a quiet evening at the house, Lorraine, MJ & I watch the last two episodes of Grey's Anatomy on the puter.

Monday May 24 - Hot then very cold

Weather started hot, hot, hot, then in late afternoon, the east wind came up and cooled thing down so that we had to put layers of clothes on. MJ and Albert did some of the little things that had to be done for our camping stove. MJ got her lathe out and started making a bowl for Lorraine. Sylvie, Lynn, Blake and Toby came to visit for a couple hours before dinner. Watched the Canadians lose to Philladelphia. Now I don't know who to cheer for since our Canucks are out of the picture, guess will cheer for Chicago since they beat our Canucks. Thunder, lightning and rain during the night.

Monday, May 24, 2010

Sunday May 23rd - Hot, Hot, Hot

Hot day in May. However, nice day with Albert & Lorraine. Showed Albert all we wanted him to do for us while we are here. Like, fix the camping stoves we have. Weld brackets on the back of the trailer to put the metal box we found at a garage sale. Fix the door on our truck canopy.

Sunday, May 23, 2010

Sat May 22 - Gorgeous sunny day

Welcome to everyone following us. You may find some days I feel like the bug, some days I feel like the windshield. Speaking of which, went for a little shopping trip yesterday to buy my bro some new rubber boots, his looked like a patchwork quilt from hell (they are too small, gotta exchange them). MJ & Lynn were sitting in the front of Lynn's car and me in the back. My lucky day. A wasp or bumble bee came in and hit MJ', left lens and went into Lynn's right ear. Lynn didn't know what the heck hit her, she plucked the bug out in a flash and threw it on MJ's seat and MJ picked it up and threw it out. All this was done in about 2 seconds. Screams and movements like thunder and lightening. Funny now, but at the time quite nerve racking. Had dinner here with Lorraine, Albert, MJ, Lynn and her two boys (Blake & Toby). Gotta love those kids. Quiet evening. On a side note, this cold of mine just keeps persisting. Not going away.

Saturday, May 22, 2010

Another day with wonderful family. May 21

Bro is back from fishing with not much luck, but had a good time alone on the lake. Finally got my s--- together and arranged to have our trailer license plate replaced. Had to report it to police to be able to get a claim number then relayed the number to Doug so he could go to ICBC and get a new plate and decal. What a pile of rubbish. MJ & Lorraine went grocery shopping and I cleaned the dust out of the trailer and washed the windows. My cousin Pierre & his wife Madeleine were here to visit last night. Nice evening.

Friday, May 21, 2010

Nice day and evening with friends.

Went to Dalhousie with Lorraine (sister in law) and Blake (5yr old great nephew). Lorraine for tests at hospital and Blake and I to Tim Horton's for Tim bits and dollar store, then to the park while we waited for Lorraine. Had a great time with him. Amazing what kids can say. Then back to the house where Lynn (my niece and other great nephew) Toby came and had a wonderful afternoon and dinner. In the evening, MJ, Lorraine and I were sitting chatting and relaxing when my cousin Norma and her daughter Chantale arrived, then later on, our friend Alice came along. It was a hen fest until about midnight. Bro is still out fishing. Should be coming home today. Better get here soon because the lobsters are calling us.

Thursday, May 20, 2010

We made it.

Arrived in Charlo, NB on Sunday and were very glad to get our butts out of that truck. Had a few incidents along the way, but nothing serious: snow in the prairies that swirled in the back of the truck and went in the front window of the trailer and had water all over the table and benches, flat tire on the trailer in North Bay, Ont., hit gravel roads when we took a short cut and cracked a water pipe under the trailer, then someone stole our trailer license plate in Ottawa. MJ caught a cold about 1 week before we got here and now I have one. Went fishing Tuesday and came back yesterday because of my cold. Never caught one fish so will try again. My bro stayed back and he's still there. Waiting to feel better so we can go again. Will try to get some lobster on the week end. Weather is great here. Froze our butts all the way down, but now we are happy. (no Janice, will not tell you what we are eating except the lobsters.)

Friday, May 7, 2010

On our way

Had a great time with Lynden and Charlie (Charlene). Now on our way out today. Will post whenever I get a wifi connection or else you will have to wait til we get to NB. Nice sunny day here. Hope it keeps up.

Snow on our first day.

We left Richmond at 2:45 yesterday after getting our truck. We hit snow falling just before getting to our friends in Logan Lake. Bummer. However, the company is great, so we are happy campers. Looking on the news this morning, looks like pretty much all al Canada is getting snow except where we came from. We will do the best of it. Yvon: Demande a Maman de traduire pour toi. Bonjour to everyone.

Truck has given up the ghost.

This morning I parked my truck in front of the claim centre at ICBC and was soon driving it inside to be told that there were no adjusters available for me as I didn't have an appointment. The receptionist was very efficient and called the manager who in turn found an adjuster who was available to take my statement and an hour later I was on my merry way. They will handle everything from their end. The truck had started acting up a couple to 3 days ago and this morning it would miss and wouldn't accelerate properly, so we decided to put some fuel additives in since we had put some US fuel in 2 week ends ago and thought maybe that was the problem. We went out for breakfast and afterwards, put the additive to the test and reved the motor up to 80 kms on a side street and low and behold, our baby decided it was tired and stopped; didn't want to move. Tried and tried to start it, but no go. Got it towed to the Ford dealership and apparently the fuel pump needs to be replaced and it needs a good tune up, including new spark plugs and transmission flushing. So, $2300.00 estimate later we walked out without our baby. The lady at the dealership felt so bad, she gave us a loaner truck for free. Needless to say, our trip is being delayed by 2 days. MJ is still hopeful that we can leave tomorrow afternoon. Hope she is right.

Water damage repairs ARE DONE. yippee

Finally, all the repairs are done. Final day was Friday and everything looks great. We are tired, tired, tired. Had a little fly in the ointment this morning. Went out with 3 people from Alberta, whom we had met while we were staying at the Ramada Inn during the repairs. Drove out to Steveston to show them the fishing boats at the dock with fishermen selling their catch. I parallell parked and when we came back, some smart ass kid with a BMW said that I had backed into his car when I parked. Which none of the 5 people in the truck felt or heard, so we feel that this guy is looking for someone to pay for his bent license plate, (which is all the damage we saw.) Came home and called our insurance company and we have to go see a claims adjuster on Monday morning so they can take a few measurements to determine if we hit this geek or not. So, our trip may be delayed a few hours, as we were going to hit the road early Monday morning. Janice: I will not tell you what we ate, except if it's lobster.

Baseboards are being painted

New flooring is in.

New flooring went down yesterday. woo hoo. Baseboards being put down today. Next step is to fix the tiles in kitchen and bathroom that scrached at the thought of it. Someone is coming in on Friday to strip the wax that was put on last week and polish it again with wax that will not scratch so easily. Hopefully this minor inconvenience of our Mar 1st water tank bursting will be out of the way by the week-end so we can sail away on Monday.
